We set up the church in a classic 'chilled out' arrangement, with couches replacing pews, and candles everywhere. The mood lighting and modern band made for quite an evening.

The extent of my preparation |
Regardless, I was stoked with how it went. I went into the night with almost nothing written down. I had in mind what I wanted to say, however very little of it made it to paper. Essentially, I had three stories, all falling under the banner of "The Spirit and Prayer". I shan't be retelling them here, but one day, if you're lucky, and ask me, I may just tell you in person.
The remainder of the evening included Youth Intern Bel preaching on what a testimony is, and how important they can be, as well as the vitality of living each day as Christ would have us. Bearing witness to the world - sharing God's love through our actions. Finally, fellow youth leader Jordan shared his testimony, how he came to faith through years of ambivalence and can proudly stand up today and say he is saved in Christ. Truly inspiring stuff.
Worship was just as fantastic as the messages we heard - a few songs we haven't sung in nearly a year, and God's grace once again shining through: On Thursday, our band was 2 people, a singer and a guitarist. By 6.00pm on Friday night though, we had three singers, two guitarists, a bassist and a pianist! The worship would have been great either way, but having this many people all helping out was really fantastic.
I'm now super excited about Sunday, and I just hope that the Church will be packed out; as traditionally people use the Youth service as an excuse for a night off.. Hopefully people will see the value in our Youth, just as I do, and get excited to see them serving.
God Bless.
Awesome to hear that your testimony went well, with minimal preparation! Praise God!
